My First Dress
I recently made my first dress! It looks pretty on camera, but trust me.... It is NOT too pretty up close, lol. But I'm slowly getting there. At least it was successful enough to look good on camera, right? I count that as a win. I used Nani Iro fabric - premium cotton gauze imported from Japan (which I got on sale, of course, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to afford the three yards I used for this dress). I chose this gorgeous magenta color under a field of beautiful white flowers because I knew it would pretty against my rose-tinted skin. I actually made about six entire muslins before cutting my Nani Iro to make sure I did it exactly right. I drafted the bodice using a Youtube video uploaded by a beautiful Nigerian girl who showed her audience how to draft a gorgeous milkmaid-style top.
